Let’s get started!
Hi, I’m Kelsey Swift (she/her) – your instructor for Linguistics for TESOL/Bilingual Teachers.

I’m a PhD candidate in linguistics at the CUNY Graduate Center. I’m also an adult ESOL teacher. Though I know our learning conditions this semester are not ideal, I look forward to figuring it all out together!
As you get started, please fill out this Student Information Form.
Also, familiarize yourself with this course website and Zoom.
You can navigate all the course content from COURSE SCHEDULE + MATERIALS tab. There, you will find links to the instructional material (under ‘Online Material’), the readings, and the homework. I will also send you these links in a weekly email.
We will have a class meeting via Zoom on Thursdays, 6-7 PM (or 6-7:30, for our required meetings) Eastern time. Four of these meetings – 2/4, 3/25, 5/6 and 5/13 – are required, but the rest are optional. During these optional meetings, we’ll work through some practice activities and address any lingering questions you might have. I will email you the link to these Zoom meetings, along with an agenda, every week. If you’d like to meet one-on-one via Zoom at a different time, email me and we’ll set it up!
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email me at kelsey.swift.cuny (at) gmail.com
